The recently freed journalist Hisham Tarmom from Houthis' prisons undergoes surgery for a slipped disc as a result of been tortured in Houthis militia's prisons for the last five and half years.
According to the medical report, the journalist Hisham is suffering great pain in his back and limbs because he had a slipped disc in the sixth and seventh vertebrae that require surgical intervention to remove the cartilage and replace it.
It's worth noting that the journalist Hisham is in surgery in Dr, Ehab Eissa Hospital in Cairo.
The five journalists Hisham Tarmom, Hassen Anab, Essam Blghaith, Haithm Ash Shihab and Hisham Al Yousufi are suffering from various diseases as diabetes, hypertension, rheumatism, backbone pains as a result of being detained in Houthis militia's prisons that lasted for five and half years.
In mid-October of last year, the five journalists were released in a prisoner exchange agreement between Yemen Gov't and Houthis militia under United Nations auspices and ICRC involving 1081 prisoners and abductees.
Yemen Gov't Prisoners and Abductees Committee emphasized the Houthis militia refusing to release the other detained journalists Akrm Al Waleedi, Abdulkhaliq Emran, Harth Humaid and Tawfeeq Al Mansuri despite the efforts made by the Government delegation in the underway negotiations under United Nations auspices.
